Connecting Custom GPTs to Microsoft Teams in 5 minutes (no coding required)
* Original post: How to Integrate Chat GPT into Teams in 10 Minutes — No Coding Required
Building custom GPTs has never been easier like this before OpenAI released GPTs and Assistants. Let me introduce you to connect your custom GPT to your Microsoft Teams workspace. If you haven’t made one, check “How To Create Your Own Custom GPT: Beginner’s Complete Guide.”

How it Works
Before we jump into the integration, let me explain how it works:
- Build a custom GPT using OpenAI GPTs. We assume that you have already made one.
- Convert the custom GPT to an OpenAI Assistant so that Microsoft Teams can send API requests to it.
- Connect the OpenAI Assistant with Microsft Teams using Runbear.

Simple, isn’t it? Let’s dive in.
1. Importing custom GPTs to Runbear
Using Runbear, you can easily convert your custom GPTs to OpenAI Assistants so that you can use them in your daily tools like Slack, Teams, or Zendesk.
- Sign up for Runbear.io
- Visit the “Assistants” page.
- Add the Runbear bookmark to your bookmark bar.
- Open your custom GPTs and click the bookmark.
2. Integrating it into your Microsoft Teams Workspace
Runbear is a great no-code tool for connecting the GPTs/Assistant and Microsoft Teams.
Follow these simple steps:
- Open the Assistant imported from GPT.
- Click the “Connect Channel” button, and select your Slack workspace and the Assistant to connect them.
All Done!
3. Having Fun
Invite @Runbear
to your Teams channel and ask the bot questions with a mention. Your custom GPTs will get the query and give you an answer.
